William "Bill" Maher, Jr. (/ˈmɑːr/; born January 20, 1956) is an American political satirist, writer, producer, political commentator, television host, actor, media critic, and stand-up comedian. Before his role as the host of HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, Maher hosted a similar late-night talk show called Politically Incorrect, originally on Comedy Central and later on ABC. Maher is known for his sarcastic attitude,[1] political satire and sociopolitical commentary, which targets a wide swath of topics including religion, politics, bureaucracies of many kinds, political correctness, the mass media, greed among people and persons in positions of high political and social power, and the lack of intellectual curiosity in the electorate.[2] more....... |
Buzz Aldrin (born Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Jr.; January 20, 1930) is an American engineer and former astronaut, and thesecond person to walk on the Moon. He was the Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing in history. He set foot on the Moon at 03:15:16 (UTC) on July 21, 1969, following mission commander Neil Armstrong. He is also a former U.S. Air Force officer and a Command Pilot.
Aldrin was born January 20, 1930, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey,[1][2] to Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Sr. (1896–1974), a career military man, and his wife Marion Gaddys (née Moon; 1903–1968).[3][4] He is of Scottish, Swedish,[5] and Germanancestry. After graduating from Montclair High School in 1946,[1][6] Aldrin turned down a full scholarship offer from theMassachusetts Institute of Technology, and went to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. The nickname "Buzz" originated in childhood: the younger of his two elder sisters mispronounced "brother" as "buzzer", and this was shortened to Buzz. Jackson DeForest Kelley (January 20, 1920 – June 11, 1999) was an American actor, screenwriter, poet and singer known for his iconic roles in Westerns and as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy of the USS Enterprise in the television and film series Star Trek.
Kelley was delivered by his uncle at his parents' home in Toccoa, Georgia, the son of Clora (née Casey) and Ernest David Kelley, who was a Baptist minister. DeForest was named after the pioneering electronics engineer Lee De Forest. He later named his Star Trek character's father "David" after his own father. Kelley had an older brother, Ernest Casey Kelley.[3] As a child, he often played outside for hours at a time. Kelley was immersed in his father's mission in Conyersand told his father that failure would mean "wreck and ruin". Before the end of his first year at Conyers, Kelley was regularly putting to use his musical talents and often sang solo in morning church services.[4] Eventually, this led to an appearance on the radio station WSB AM in Atlanta, Georgia. She was best known for her film roles as World War II widow Helen Benson in The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), wealthy matron Emily Eustace Failenson in Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), and middle-aged housekeeper Alma Brown in Hud (1963), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. She also played Olivia Walton in the 1971 made-for-television film The Homecoming: A Christmas Story, a role played in the regular series by actress Michael Learned.
Neal was born Patsy Louise Neal, in Packard, Whitley County, Kentucky, to William Burdette and Eura Petrey Neal.[1][2]She grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she attended Knoxville High School,[3] and studied drama at Northwestern University.
