Ina Balin (November 12, 1937 – June 20, 1990) was an American actress on Broadway and in film.
Born Ina Rosenberg to a Jewish family[1] in Brooklyn, Ina Balin first appeared on television on The Perry Como Show. She also did summer stock, which led to roles on Broadway, and in 1959, she won the Theatre World Award for her performance in the Broadway comedy, A Majority of One, starring Gertrude Berg and Sir Cedric Hardwicke. That same year, she landed her first film role in The Black Orchid. A year later, Balin was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress — Motion Picture for her performance opposite Paul Newman in From the Terrace. She appeared in The Young Doctors.[2] In 1961, she appeared as Pilar Graile in The Comancheros with John Wayne and Stuart Whitman. Co-starring with Jerry Lewis in the 1964 hit comedy The Patsy, Balin also had a secondary, but important part in 1965's The Greatest Story Ever Told. She also co-starred with Elvis Presley in his 1969 film Charro!. She guest-starred on dozens of television shows, including Adventures in Paradise, Bonanza, The Lieutenant,The Dick Van Dyke Show, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Battlestar Galactica, Get Smart, It Takes a Thief, Ironside, Twelve O'Clock High ,Quincy, M.E. and Magnum, P.I. Grace Patricia Kelly (November 12, 1929 – September 14, 1982) was an American actress who, after marrying Prince Rainier III, becamePrincess of Monaco.
After embarking on an acting career in 1950, at the age of 20, Kelly appeared in New York City theatrical productions and more than 40 episodes of live drama productions broadcast during the early 1950s Golden Age of Television. In October 1953, she gained stardom from her performance in the film Mogambo. It won her a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination in 1954. She had leading roles in five films, including The Country Girl, for which her deglamorized performance earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress.[2] Other films includeHigh Noon (1952) with Gary Cooper, Dial M for Murder (1954) with Ray Milland, Rear Window (1954) with James Stewart and To Catch a Thief(1955) with Cary Grant, and High Society (1956) with Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. Kelly retired from acting at the age of 26 to marry Rainier and began her duties as Princess of Monaco. They had three children: Caroline,Albert, and Stéphanie. De Pablo co-hosted episodes of the Latin American talk show Control with former Entertainment Tonight host, Carlos Ponce, at the age of 15 before attending Carnegie Mellon University to study music and theatre. After appearing in a number of small television roles, she was cast to portray main character Ziva David in the CBS television series NCIS in 2005. De Pablo won an ALMA Award for the role in 2011, and NCISbecame the most watched television program in the United States during Season 10 (2012–13).[2] She performed a portion of Tom Waits' song "Temptation" for a 2008 episode of NCIS. In the Fifth Grade, she found many people could not properly pronounce her first name of "María José," so she asked them to call her "Coté," a common Chilean nickname for "María José."[7] De Pablo attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she studied Music and Theater and appeared in several plays, including And the World Goes 'Round, The House of Bernarda Alba, Indiscretions, The Fantasticks, andA Little Night Music.
