William Henry Harrison (February 9, 1773 – April 4, 1841) was the ninth President of the United States (1841), an American military officer and politician, and the first president to die in office. He was 68 years, 23 days old when inaugurated, the oldest president to take office until Ronald Reagan in 1981. Harrison died on his 32nd day in office[a] of complications from pneumonia, serving the shortest tenure in United States presidential history. His death sparked a briefconstitutional crisis, but its resolution settled many questions about presidential succession left unanswered by theConstitution until the passage of the 25th Amendment in 1967. He was the grandfather of Benjamin Harrison, who was the 23rd President from 1889 to 1893.

Ronald Charles Colman (9 February 1891 – 19 May 1958) was an English actor, popular during the 1930s and 1940s.[1]He won an Academy Award for Best Actor for A Double Life (1947), and received nominations for Random Harvest(1942) and Bulldog Drummond/Condemned (1929, nominated for his work in both). Colman starred in the classic films A Tale of Two Cities (1935), Lost Horizon (1937), The Prisoner of Zenda (1937), and The Talk of the Town (1942).He was born in Richmond, Surrey, England, as Ronald Charles Colman, the second son and fourth child[2] of Charles Colman and his wife Marjory Read Fraser. His siblings included Eric, Edith, and Marjorie. He was educated at boarding school in Littlehampton, where he discovered that he enjoyed acting, despite his shyness.[3] He intended to studyengineering at Cambridge University, but his father's sudden death from pneumonia in 1907 made it financially impossible.[3]

Waldo Brian Donlevy (February 9, 1901 – April 5, 1972), later known as Brian Donlevy was an Northern Irish-born American actor, noted for playing dangerous tough guys from the 1930s to the 1960s. He usually appeared in supporting roles. Among his best-known films are Beau Geste (1939) and The Great McGinty (1940). For his role as Sergeant Markoff in Beau Geste he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Donlevy starred as US special agent Steve Mitchell in 40 episodes of the 1952 TV series "Dangerous Assignment". Mitchell received assignments to exotic locales involving international intrigue from 'The Commissioner' played by Hubert Butterfield.[3][4] His obituary in The Times newspaper in the United Kingdom stated that "any consideration of the American 'film noir' of the 1940s would be incomplete without him".[5] more....... |
