David Keith McCallum, Jr. (born 19 September 1933) is a Scottish actor and musician. He first gained recognition in the 1960s for playing Russian spy Illya Kuryakin, a Russian secret agent, in the television series The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and as inter-dimensional operative Steel in Sapphire & Steel.
In recent years, McCallum has gained international recognition and popularity for his role as NCIS medical examiner Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallardin the American television series NCIS (TV series). McCallum was born in Glasgow, the second of two sons of Dorothy Dorman, a cellist, and orchestral leader David McCallum, Sr. When he was three, his family moved to London for his father to lead the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Early in the Second World War he was evacuated back to Scotland, where he lived with his mother at Gartocharn by Loch Lomond.[1] McCallum won a scholarship to University College School, a boys' independent school in Hampstead, London, where, encouraged by his parents to prepare for a career in music, he played the oboe.[1] In 1946 he began doing boy voices for the BBC radio repertory company.[1] Also involved in local amateur drama, at age 17, he appeared as Oberon in an open-air production of A Midsummer Night's Dream with the Play and Pageant Union. He is known for his work in television as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and as the host of late-night talk show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He was born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and raised in Saugerties, New York. He grew up with an interest in comedy and music, moving to Los Angeles at 21 to pursue stand-up opportunities.
He was commissioned to join NBC's Saturday Night Live as a cast member in 1998, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Fallon remained on SNL for six years between 1998 and 2004, co-hosting the program's Weekend Update segment and becoming a celebrity in the process. He left the program for the film industry, starring in films such as Taxi (2004) and Fever Pitch (2005), which were mostly unsuccessful. Following his film career, Fallon returned to television as the host of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on NBC in 2009, where he became well known for his emphasis on music and games. William West Anderson (born September 19, 1928), better known by his stage name Adam West, is an American actor. He is best known for the title role in the 1960s ABC series Batman and its theatrical feature film. He has done voice work on animated series such as The Fairly OddParents and Family Guy, in both of which he voices fictional versions of himself.
West was born on September 19, 1928, in Walla Walla, Washington,[2] to Otto West Anderson (January 25, 1903 – October 9, 1984)[3][unreliable source?][4] and Audrey V. Speer (1906–69).[5] His paternal grandparents were Swedish.[3] He attended Walla Walla High Schoolduring his freshman and sophomore years, and later enrolled in Lakeside School in Seattle. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and a minor in Psychology from Whitman College[6] in Walla Walla where he was a member of the Gamma Zeta Chapter of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
