Lola Jean Albright (born July 20, 1924) is an American singer and actress.
Born in Akron, Ohio to John Paul and Marion (née Harvey) Albright, Lola worked as a model before moving to Hollywood. Her motion picturecareer began with a bit part in the 1947 film The Unfinished Dance, and gained notice in the 1949 film Champion. For the next several years, she appeared in secondary roles in over twenty films, including several 'B' Westerns. Albright made guest appearances in such television series as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Gunsmoke, The Dick Van Dyke Show, My Three Sons,The Beverly Hillbillies, Bonanza, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Medical Center, Kojak, Columbo, McMillan & Wife, Quincy, M.E., Starsky and Hutchand The Incredible Hulk.[2] In 1958, she was cast on Peter Gunn, the television detective series produced by Blake Edwards and scored by Henry Mancini. Albright played Edie Hart, a nightclub singer and the romantic interest of Peter Gunn (Craig Stevens), gaining a 1959 Emmy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress (Continuing Character) in a Dramatic Series. Sir Edmund Percival Hillary KG ONZ KBE (20 July 1919 – 11 January 2008) was a New Zealand mountaineer, explorer and philanthropist. On 29 May 1953, Hillary and Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers to reach the summit of Mount Everest. They were part of the ninth British expedition to Everest, led by John Hunt. Hillary was named by Time as one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century
Hillary became interested in mountaineering while in secondary school, making his first major climb in 1939, reaching the summit of Mount Ollivier. He served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force as a navigator during World War II. Prior to the 1953 Everest expedition, Hillary had been part of the British reconnaissance expedition to the mountain in 1951, as well as an unsuccessful attempt to climb Cho Oyu in 1952. As part of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition he reached the South Pole overland in 1958. Dame Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg, DBE (born 20 July 1938) is an English actress. She is known for the role of Emma Peel in the TV series The Avengers, which she appeared in from 1965 to 1968. She has also had an extensive career in the theatre, including playing the title role in Medea, both in London and New York. For this role, she won the 1994 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. Considered a sex symbol[1][2] she was made a CBE in 1988 and a Dame in 1994.
Rigg made her professional stage debut in 1957 in The Caucasian Chalk Circle, and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1959. She made her Broadway debut in the 1971 production of Abelard & Heloise. Her film roles include Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream (1968); Countess Teresa di Vicenzo, wife of James Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969); Lady Holiday in The Great Muppet Caper (1981); and Arlene Marshall in Evil Under the Sun (1982). In 1989, she starred in the BBC miniseries Mother Love, for which she won a BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress. For her role as Mrs. Danvers in the 1997 adaptation of Rebecca, she won an Emmy Award. Natalie Wood (born Natalie Zacharenko;[1][2] July 20, 1938 – November 29, 1981) was an American film and television actress best known for her screen roles in Miracle on 34th Street, Splendor in the Grass, Rebel Without a Cause, and West Side Story. After first working in films as a child, Wood became a successful Hollywood star as a young adult, receiving three Academy Award nominations before she was 25 years old.Wood began acting in movies at the age of four and at age eight was given a co-starring role with Maureen O'Hara in the classic Christmas filmMiracle on 34th Street.[3] As a teenager, her performance in Rebel Without a Cause (1955) earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She starred in the musical films West Side Story (1961) and Gypsy (1962), and received Academy Award for Best Actress nominations for her performances in Splendor in the Grass (1961) and Love with the Proper Stranger (1963). Her career continued with films such as Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969).
